History

The TRANSMED Medizintechnik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1985 and quickly made a name for itself as a supplier of products for the medical disciplines of anesthesia and intensive care as well as a producer of blood mixing and weighing devices.

Important milestones of the product portfolio were the pressure infusion cuffs, the transfusion devices and the blood mixing and weighing device TRANSWAAG which is used by many blood donor services.

The dry tempering system SAHARA which thaws and heats frozen blood products without the means of liquid components was launched in 1998 and has been gaining international customers ever since.

In the year 2000 TRANSMED became a subsidiary of the SARSTEDT AG & Co. KG and therefore part of the worldwide operating SARSTEDT-Group. The company takeover of REGANESTH GmbH followed in 2004, expanding the regional anesthesia product range.

The further development of the blood mixing and weighing devices resulting in the launch of TOPSWING, and its unique mixing movement marked a new milestone. Also the SAHARA product family will be joined by a new member, the SAHARA 4, in 2020. The device has been designed to set new standards in the area of dry tempering systems. The regional anesthesia range includes the REGANESTH® unoplex needles whose main product features are accuracy and visibility during ultrasound-guided plexus anesthesia.
